WHILE the first team take centre-stage in this weekend’s derby meeting with Rangers, the reserves and youths are limbering up for two important games of their own.
The reserves run out tomorrow night (Wednesday, August 27) to face what is expected to be a strong and experienced Dundee United side at Forfar’s Station Park.
United kicked off their season with a 2-2 draw away at Hamilton on the opening day, while Willie McStay’s Bhoys earned an impressive 2-0 win in difficult playing conditions against last season’s title challengers, St Mirren.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm at Station Park and as always, supporters in the local area are encouraged to go along and give the reserves their backing as they go for eight-in-a-row.
Meanwhile, the Under-19s will be aiming to build on last week’s 2-1 win over United in their weekend meeting with Falkirk at Barrowfield.
Having lost their opening league fixture, the youths bounced back with a win on the road last weekend and will face another tough test against a highly-rated Falkirk side on Saturday afternoon (August 30).
Kick-off is at 1pm at Barrowfield and supporters are welcome to come along and watch the match.
Then on Sunday, it’s the game that needs no introduction, with the first derby meeting of the Premier League season kicking off at 12.30pm on Sunday (August 31).
